Big Sleeping #Baby in the #City! Hongkong has the giant duck. #Singapore can boasts of having the world’s largest baby #sculpture! Cool! At #GardensByTheBay (at Gardens By The Bay)
Took this #photo from a moving tram. Note: The Sleeping Baby Sculpture known as “Planet” was Created by British artist Marc Quinn – known, among other works, for a sculpture of his head made from his own frozen blood (entitled ‘Self’) and various sculptures of supermodel Kate Moss in impossible yoga positions. ‘Planet’ is the latest piece of art to be installed at Gardens by the Bay. Depicting a gigantic sleeping baby based on Quinn’s own son, the entire 7 ton bronze sculpture balances on one arm, with the body and legs floating in the air. It was first displayed at the historical Chatsworth House in England in 2008; now it’s a permanent addition to Garden by the Bay’s art collection (comprising over 40 pieces) – find it at The Meadow.
‘Planet’ by Marc Quinn is on display in a public area of #GardensByTheBay and can be viewed any time of the day, with no entrance fee. #Singapore
